DAHSHANAE 'MELANIN FAIRY'



The very extroverted Dahshanae started her musical career from as early as the age of 8. She was drawn to music naturally at a younger age although she eventually studied dance. In addition, as she slowly started mastering her sound by harmonizing songs the next thing was to perfect her singing and write beautiful songs. Moreover, her creative energy is drawn from the likes of Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, and Jazmine Sullivan and the new artists that resonate with her energy/aura. To add, she believes in being true to yourself, like accepting all of you as a person. Being a smile freak herself, she is a firm believer that something as simple as a smile can be inspiring, and to an extent help with the creative process of creating music. As the year progresses she is firstly thinking about peace, love and understanding on her journey as a creative. Secondly, as she is excited about her Colgate deal and wanting to work with her favorite creatives she is focusing on being the most authentic version of herself. Lastly, she wants to get a pet cat preferably black with white fur and call him Jasper. As we wait for more soul lifting music from her, it is safe to say that she is headed the right direction.
