A church soul from childhood she started singing in the church from the age of 4, and she continues to use her gifts (voice) to inspire others and do what she was born to do. She was inspired the late Soul/ RnB Whitney Houston especially her hit single 'I wanna dance with somebody (who loves me)' which is a classic hit. Moreover, her late mother who she considered as her first inspiration was a phenomenal singer who actually learnt from her mother (grandmother) who used to be a big fan of the O'Jays back in the day. Denequia comes from a lineage of multi-talented singers and her voice is testament to that. When her father passed on in the year 2003, she decided to take an unofficial break from music, and got back on the musical train in 2015 by being persuaded by her daughter. Her family in terms of her Husband and children inspire her to continue to do what she loves which is music. Lastly her plans for the year are to channel her creative ideas along side with her husband who himself is a comedian, so if you in Atlanta make sure Denequia is on your radar.
