Dami: What got you into producing?
DJ: When I was 9, I started writing songs with a former friend of mine back in the day and I wasn’t really involved in it until I was 14. During the days after school, I’d go to this youth program that got the youth involved in major activities to keep them off the streets then one day during this cookout, I met this DJ who showed me his setup and I was in the feels of the moment. From there on, I decided to become a DJ
Dami: Do you also write?
DJ: Yes, I do even though I’m not a rapper. I refer to myself as an EDM artist
Dami: Describe your creative process?
DJ: My creative process and focus is to pioneer my way through the DJ circuit of EDM and with my particular sound and styles as well. My sound is a subgenre of both EDM music and hip-hop. Together makes what I call and have researched- Future Trap music. I also pioneer Future Bass and hip hop together along with house music and electronic hip hop. Thus, my process overall is to break through this circuit with my own spin on electronic music and bring it to the masses
Dami: Who are your biggest inspirations?
DJ: Steve Aoki, Adam Goldstein, Marshmello, Kid Cudi, J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Martin Garrix and a few more
Dami: What are your biggest challenges as a producer?
DJ: One of my biggest challenges is the journey of the uphill battle between folks wanting to box me in or that narrative if you know what I mean
Dami: Any dream collabs?
DJ: My dream collab right now is to work with Marshmello
Dami: What’s next for you after your latest tape?
DJ: I will be taking my endeavors even higher with another project as an official soundtrack to one of my purest written stories and gathered of highly spiritual information which is my first ever book release and then I’ll be taking it another step by going on small festivals to perform
Dami: What’s your best experience as a producer?
DJ: It has to be when me and my DJ partner performed at a music festival in Main and we DJ’ ed our sets alongside a well renown DJ who was headlining and the people were blown away. Another one was when we DJ’ ed at a mini festival in New Hampshire and the crowd of folks there were absolutely asperatic. It’s the purpose of changing lives and helping to make a difference in the world that fuels these great experiences.
Dami: Where do you draw inspiration from?
DJ: I draw inspiration from my communities that I help lead and develop. From my people, from my tribes as well as my kin and others who are fighting the good fight to do what they love in this world.
