FEBRUARY

ree

February is an 18-year-old from Indiana. He recently dropped a track with Undexd and they have a joint project on the way. We discuss his journey as an artist, creative process and inspirations.

Grey: What got you into music?

February: This is gonna sound dumb as hell but I used to write poems and then my friends started writing songs and stuff and so in late last year, I took a shot at writing music. I’ve always been into singing and rapping so it was an easy transition

Grey: Who are your biggest inspirations?

February: That’s easy. Dominic Fike, blackbear, and Iann Dior

Grey: How would you describe your sound?

February: Alternative Pop/Rock/Rap

Grey: What is your creative process?

February: I write about experiences in life and things I’ve gone through but now I don’t go through that stuff anymore, I think about what it was like for me at that time and the emotions I was feeling

Grey: Where do you draw inspiration from?

February: Past experiences and Emotional Trauma

Grey: Do you have any dream collabs?

February: If I could get the chance to collab with any of my inspirations that would be a dream come true

Grey: What is your favourite song by yourself?

February: If I had to pick a favourite, it would be a song on my upcoming album titled “Codependence”

Grey: What’s your biggest experience so far as an artist?

February: People I’ve never known before hitting me up and telling me that they love my music and can’t wait for the next release

Grey: What is your biggest challenge as an artist?

February: Honestly my biggest challenge is my perfectionist complex I have with my songs. I’ve scrapped over 100 songs this year just because they weren’t good enough for me

Grey: Have you ever experienced writer’s block?

February: Yeah fs but I’ve noticed that it comes to me when I lose the inspiration for a song

Grey: How do you deal with it?

February: I experience more things when I got writer’s block. I go out and do stuff. Hear more people’s words- shit like that to get flowing again

Grey: I heard you got a project with Undexd on the way. Can you tell us more about it?

February: He hit me up and said we should collab and I was like hell yeah. So far, we’re still in the planning stage

Grey: What are you trying to achieve artistically at the end of the year?

February: I’m tryna finish my first full album which should be coming soon

Grey: What should listeners expect from it?

February: An exponential improvement in sound and experience and vibe from any other songs I’ve released
