RnB is a genre that has been on a steady rise due to the new infused sounds that have emerged. The new wave of artists that have been able to express themselves in this particular genre have made it easy for young people to relate. The likes of SZA, Bryson Tiller and so on. S.B.X who is known as Sibahle Siphelele Nomvelo is an artist that exudes an aura of truth and honest vulnerability. The prominent artist was born and raised Pretoria east Gauteng, however the family moved to Empageni, KZN. In her younger years she was constantly casted in Christmas plays, not knowing that her later years it would lead to her being involved in the arts. The years of being involved in the arts (singing, acting and dancing) in both primary and high school served as building blocks towards her next step in tertiary. In 2018 she enrolled at the University of Witwatersrand to study Bachelors of Arts in Dramatic arts (Theatre and Performance) to hone her craft. Moreover, the year 2019 was S.B.X's breakout year when she recorded her first song. Her main inspirations to her sound were artists like Jhene Aiko, SZA, Summer Walker, Rihanna and Kehlani. The month of March of 2020, her debut song 'Libras interlude' dropped was a single to introduce herself to the audience and maintain an organic following and from there it has been nothing but steady growth since. Lastly her debut EP ' These songs Are About You' dropped in October 2020. In all honesty the Libras interlude track is a great song despite not it being in the 'Theses Songs Are About You' EP the lyrics are easy to remember and her vocal capabilities are brilliant. The video storyline is very seduction and of course captivating.
