SUCCESS NGENKANI


The grind has this painful ability to separate the boys from the men. Long hours, studio time and mental blocks are really the moments when you see the essence of an artist. Devil is always in the detail, and this artist that I am going to mention literally understands the importance of details and perfecting a sound. Ras Odume Ngenkani is an artist that has had his path chosen for him. His early childhood memories of music used to consist of his mother always being actively engaged in the community church choir. In addition secretly writing music in his own bubble, he knew from a young age that music would be his true purpose. As the years went by, he was caught between school and music and the year 2010 was when he had to choose which route to take. Despite not being knowledgeable about the concept of mixing and mastering his music he never gave up in fact he became more resilient . 2013 was the year when he decided study sound engineering to really add more to his talent. The inspirations to his music are mainly his life experiences, memories as well as the environment around him. In addition, with fond memories of going to rehearsals with his mother watching her perform have really enriched his spirit. Moreover, with the goal to work with the industry pioneer DJ Maphorisa he strongly believes that a collaboration would really will be fireworks in the studio. The overall dream is to really make music that is inspirational and that heals people's souls International artists that have caught his attention are Ryan Leslie, Damian Marley and Pharrell. I strongly believe that as he continues to make music he will really grow as an artist and continue to sharpen his craft consistently.
