UNLEASH MALZEE


The hip hop industry still has a lot to do to in terms of opening up the platform for female artists. The rapper that I will be talking about is somewhat of an enigma in terms of the bars and lyricism. The touch of raw talent and hunger, she is truly here to mark her territory. Aphiwe Mfeka aka Malzee is a South African hip hop artist who resides in Johannesburg. She started viewing herself as an entertainer from the age of 3. In addition, not only is she a force of an artist but she has a subtle soft side which comes from her history of theater performances. Her rap career started emerging from the age of 14, she already knew she wanted to tear the game up. The song that would later become her muse is Dear Mama by the late Tupac Shakur (R.I.P). 2016 was her big debut under a rap duo called Kommando were she initially started recording music. The track on the 1st move mixtape called 'Black Su' caught good waves and helped them get a feature from Rey Oceans and King Tune. The title of the song called ' Can't touch this' seemed to serve as a sign that she is born for the game. In the year 2019, she was drawn to the young and talented South African rapper Touchline Truth who she had the opportunity to watch him perform live.


In 2020, she decided to start her solo career due to watching Touchline's inspirational performance. In addition, she had the opportunity to meet Touchline, and she actually wrote a song for him. All of this resulted in her gaining the respect from Prince Shadow's manager and producers such as MBzet. At the moment, she works with various artists to grow and expand herself. The main focus at the moment is Quickfass Cass who she is actively assisting in creating his brand whilst steadily creating, networking for own brand. Firstly Malzee's Instagram freestyles really show you how capable she is and how passionate she is about hip hop. Secondly, she is a YouTube content creator were she posts her videos and you get see what she is all about.


Honestly, I personally believe she is diamond and the industry would really lose out if they were to sleep on her.
