WITNEY

Witney is an artist that I would describe as a free spirit and a musical fairy. She initially started her musical career in 2019 and till this day she holds the mic very steady. Most of her life she has always been an artsy person whether it be writing, singing or just creating art in general. In terms of her musical inspirations, she does not have a particular person she draws her creative energy from. However, her closest friends especially how they live their lives and express themselves, just simply allows her to be more trusting of her expression and to be more open to try new things. The names of the artists that she truly enjoys are the likes of Tide, LLELLO, Buli, MAJEED, Don Calya, Chipego, KĀ, Nathy Peluso, Ram Dust and Mbalenhle "soft" Jiyane. 2022 seems like it will be an interesting year for her, as she is looking forward to purchasing a bicycle, and to continue hosting her infamous platform Where's Witney? Experiences on IG and Bandcamp. Secondly, she plans on dropping music this year, with an EP titled Future Soul, whilst working on her album slowly which is titled Childsplay and crazy visuals which will accompany her projects (music, Youtube and podcast). Live performances are also part of the plans, with a song featuring Sage Sei which will be released on the 16th of April. Through the dark times in her life, there is new hope, faith and a revitalized zest for music and the arts, nothing will stop her this year.
